Training

Onsite vs public first aid training: which is right for your team?

Should you send people to a public course or bring a trainer to you? A quick guide to choosing the right delivery for your team.

Both work, and both lead to the same nationally recognised qualification. The right choice comes down to how many people you're training, how much downtime you can afford, and how specific your risks are.

When public courses make sense

  • You only need to train one or two people.
  • You want a fixed date on the calendar without coordinating a group.
  • Timing is flexible and downtime isn't a big concern.

When onsite wins

  • You've got six or more people to certify.
  • Pulling the team off-site for a day is expensive or impractical.
  • You want training set in your real risks, equipment and layout.
  • You're regional or remote and would rather we came to you.

The hidden cost of off-site training

Per-seat prices can look cheaper until you add travel, parking and a day of lost productivity per person. For a full group, onsite delivery often comes out ahead, and your people train together, in the place they'll actually use the skills.
