How Total Quality Business Solutions (TQBS) handles your personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We only collect personal information that we reasonably need to provide our services. Depending on how you deal with us, that may include:
- Enquiries: your name, email, phone, organisation and the details of your message when you contact us through this website, by phone or by email.
- Training and enrolment: when you book or enrol in training, the information needed to enrol you and issue a nationally recognised statement of attainment, such as your name, date of birth and Unique Student Identifier (USI).
- Website usage: standard technical information your browser sends, such as IP address, device type and pages visited, collected by our hosting provider for security and reliability. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we collect it and where we store it
We collect personal information directly from you, when you contact us through this website, by phone or by email, or when you book or enrol in training. We also collect some technical information automatically through our website hosting provider.
Your information is held by us and by the service providers who help us operate, including our website hosting and email delivery providers. Some of these providers store information on secure servers located overseas, as described under Overseas disclosure below.
Why we collect it
We use your personal information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and arrange the training you ask for.
- Deliver training and issue nationally recognised statements of attainment.
- Meet our obligations as a training provider and our partner registered training organisation's regulatory requirements.
- Operate, secure and improve our website and services.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only where it is needed to deliver our services or to meet the law:
- Our partner registered training organisation, Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), which delivers the nationally recognised training and issues your statement of attainment.
- Government and regulatory bodies where required, including the Unique Student Identifier (USI) Registrar and the national VET regulator.
- Trusted service providers who help us operate, including our email delivery and website hosting providers.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, for example website hosting and email delivery, may store or process information on servers located outside Australia, primarily in the United States. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as we are required to keep it by law. As a training provider, some records must be retained to meet our and our partner registered training organisation's regulatory obligations.
When we no longer need your personal information, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy it or permanently de-identify it.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including secure (HTTPS) connections and limiting access to those who need it. This website does not take payments online. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Making a complaint
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it and aim to respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
